Couples Therapy
You both have worked hard to get to where you are now, both in your relationship and in your lives. When you both have been feeling overwhelmed by careers, children, and balancing it all, deciding how to come back together can feel confusing.
Couples therapy starts with a mutual understanding of what the goals are moving forward, and I will help facilitate this in the first few sessions. Using a framework of Psychodynamic, Gottman Principles and Internal Family Systems, the hope is that in your sessions you will work to understand and hear one another- even in the agitating times.
Sounds great, but how do we know we are ready?
When you and your partner agree that starting this process may be beneficial for both of you.
You both are not using couples therapy as a way to bash one another!
Recognition that both of you play a part in the struggles of the relationship.
Able to commit to homework and check-ins with one another either weekly or every other week.
